Boteler’s Ford (C&O Canal NHP)

History: After capturing Harpers Ferry, General Stonewall Jackson's troops crossed the Potomac River back into Maryland. General Lee's army also crossed here, but this time after retreating from Sharpsburg following the Battle of Antietam.
