Beallsville
History: A running cavalry fight passed through this small community outside of Poolesville on September 9, 1862, followed one month later by a second cavalry battle. After the war, the United Daughters of the Confederacy held funeral services for local Confederate veterans buried in town at the Monocacy Cemetery.
