Maryland Historical Society

History: In April 2011, Maryland's largest Civil War exhibit opened here at the Maryland Historical Society Museum. Occupying over 5,000 square feet within the 167-year old museum, Divided Voices: Maryland in the Civil War tells of the personal impact war had on the people of Maryland. The exhibit is arranged to tell the story in three acts: the romantic war, the real war and the long reunion. It also features a "Time Tunnel" with 3-D videos, leading visitors back to 1861. On Saturdays and Sundays the Maryland Historical Society Players perform short vignettes of major events that took place in Maryland.

More to Explore: Baltimore is always a great place to spend time with family and friends as there are limitless attractions, museums, restaurants, and entertainment venues. Numerous events bring people together with a wide variety of interests. See the Sports Legends Museum inside Camden Station. It now holds a temporary exhibit, the Civil War and Camden Station. While in the area, enjoy a ball game at Camden Yards, home of the Baltimore Orioles, and see the Babe Ruth Birthplace Museum. Then grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants at Harbor Place and the Gallery or along Pratt Street.
